Years ago a young lady was invited to a Christmas service at an evangelical church by her sister. This young lady attended that service with her sister, and was intrigued by the message that was presented. She later returned and began attending that Church. Eventually she surrendered her life to the Lord, and become a devoted follower of Jesus. Some months later, her husband also dedicated his life to Jesus Christ.
When a crisis arose in the Church they were attending, this young couple allowed some strong Christians to meet in their home for prayer. In seeking the Lord that day, those Christians became convinced that the Lord wanted to them to start a new church. Twenty-two years later the Church, Celebration Church of New Orleans, is being mightily used by God to impact the Greater New Orleans Region and the world for Jesus Christ.
Who was that young lady who attended the Christmas service, and whose home became the birthplace of a great Church? Her name is Julie Boudreaux, our Celebration Church Lead Children’s Pastor (and her husband Ken is Celebration’s Business Administrator).
We are reminded through Julie’s story, that the people we invite to Christmas services with us may eventually become great Christians, servants of the Lord, and leaders in the Kingdom of God. What Friends, Relatives, Associates or Neighbors do you need to invite and bring with you this coming weekend to our Christmas Weekend services? Write their names down, pray for them, call, text and/or email them, and do everything you can to bring them with you.
Our Christmas Weekend services last approximately an hour, and they include the singing of Christmas Carols, Communion, a special time for Children, the reading of the Christmas story, and a shortened but powerful message. Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Weekend services are always some of the most life transforming Celebration services of the year.
Our Christmas Weekend services at Celebration are:
- Metairie Campus
- Friday at 7 pm (for those who will be with family on Christmas Eve/Day)
- Saturday at 4:30 and 6:00 pm
